Invisalign Tips
A custom-made, invisible orthodontic solution, Invisalign straightens your teeth without the restrictions of metal braces. At Red Bank Smiles, we want you to get the most out of your Invisalign treatment. That’s why we’ve compiled the following tips to ensure that you see results from your Invisalign aligners.
Practice Good Oral Hygiene
Besides brushing your teeth twice a day, you should always floss routinely during the Invisalign treatment. Fortunately, flossing is a lot easier than with traditional braces, because you can remove your Invisalign aligners to really get in between your teeth. This important step removes food particles, which when left behind, can cause bacteria growth and odor.
Make a Commitment to Wear Invisalign 22 Hours a Day
Designed to slowly align your teeth, Invisalign treatments only work if you keep the trays on your teeth whenever you’re not eating, drinking or brushing. If left out for too long, your teeth won’t be positioned where they’re supposed to be, prolonging the straightening process.
Clean Your Aligners Regularly
To keep your Invisalign trays invisibleand free of bacteria, you should clean your aligners at least once a day. All you have to do is gently brush your trays and rinse with lukewarm water. For built-up food and plaque, you may soak your aligners in a denture cleaning solution for approximately 15 minutes to help free up any caked-on particles.
Change Your Aligners on Time
To stay on track, you must change your aligners on time and in the right order. While most Invisalign trays are changed after two weeks, your dentist will create a treatment plan with your unique situation in mind.
